Jeanette B. Milio

jeanette_smallJeanette B. Milio  is a producer and financier of motion pictures and television programming. Over the span of twenty five years and working across three continents, she has been involved in over 45 motion picture and television projects with a total production value exceeding $250 million.

Born and raised in Cologne, Germany, Jeanette ’s career started in 1989 as an assistant to the head of prime time programming at RTL Televison, one of Europe’s top network stations. She was involved in the production of game shows, talk shows, documentary and reality series. Jeanette then moved in prime time drama series and television movies for ARD and PRO SIEBEN. She produced her first feature film (Kreis der Angst) at the age of 29.

In 1999 Jeanette immigrated to the United States with her then 11-year-old daughter Verenice, who recently graduated from UCLA. Shortly thereafter Jeanette produced the Fox Family / Constantin Film co-production feature film Timeshare starring Nastassja Kinski, Timothy Dalton and Kevin Zegers. Starting in 2004 Jeanette worked as an adviser to various German media funds that funded billions into Hollywood. Subsequently she ran a media fund for Far East National Bank in Los Angeles. The fund invested in the production and acquisition of 41 television and theatrical projects for HBO, Showtime, ABC, USA Network, Disney, Lionsgate, The Weinstein Company, and others.

In 2009 Jeanette launched a media fund in the UK, which financed her recent productions including the Paramount Vantage distributed thriller 13, starring Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Sam Riley, Ray Winston, Michael Shannon and 50 Cent; the Sony Pictures distributed thriller The Experiment, directed by Paul Scheuring (writer, producer of Prison Break), starring Academy Award ® winning actors Adrien Brody and Forrest Whitaker, as well as Twilight‘s Cam Gigandet; and the Lionsgate distributed action thriller Dark Tide, starring Academy Award ® winning actress Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez. The film was directed by John Stockwell (Blue Crush, Into the Blue). Jeanette executive produced the comedy Wild Oats, starring Academy Award ® winner Shirly McClaine, Demi Moore, Jessica Lange and Billy Connelly, directed by Andy Tennant (Hitch, Sweet Home Alabama), release by The Weinstein Company in December 2014. Jeanette B. Milio furthermore produced the TV series Global Beauty Masters in Las Vegas, which will start airing in December 2014 on Discovery Fit & Health.

Jeanette holds a Bachelors degree in Business from IHK Aachen, studied business and economics at the Fachhochschule Cologne, as well as screenplay writing at USC in Los Angeles. Jeanette  is a published journalist, and she launched a non-profit writing program in Hollywood in 1995, which trained approximately 150 screenplay writers, a majority of whom have successful careers writing for television and film.

Jeanette B. Milio  is a full voting member of the Producers Council for The Producers Guild of America, an executive member of Women in Film and a member of the Cannes Film Festival Producer’s Network. She is also the co-chair of the Film Finance Forum Zurich, the co-founder if Film Finance TV and the Los Angeles Film and Production Conference. Jeanette is an international speaker on the subjects of structuring media investments, creating commercially viable motion picture and television projects and successfully distributing them worldwide.
